Since October 2005, I am the representative in the German parliament for the constituency (239) Biberach/Wangen and I am also responsible for the regions of Ravensburg and Bodensee.
In the parliamentary week, a normal day begins at 8. On Mondays, I take meetings in my Biberach office and then in the afternoon I travel to Berlin to represent my constituencies. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, there are many working groups to see and many parliamentary and committee meetings to attend. Thursdays and Fridays are usually reserved for the plenum of the parliament. The work with parliamentarians and committees is always interesting because you can interact with many foreign guests and representatives from a variety of different associations.
When I am not involved in the parliamentary sittings, I use the time available to co-ordinate with my team and to become informed over enquiries, make telephone calls, reply to any e-mails or letters that I may have received in my absence. When I have completed my political correspondence then I like to participate in my hobby, Football. I always try to find time not only to participate, but more importantly to contribute to the team because most of our efforts are for the purpose of charity. I am a member of the FC Bundestag, a football team with players consisting of all parties. We have for instance, played against a worthy team, the social association of Caritas Hometown, and we were successful. We won tickets for the WM 2006, but we unanimously decided that we would award the prize to our opponents. Moreover, once a year, we play against another European country which definitely makes matters more interesting.
